Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The global recognition of his music has helped his rise into the mainstream of Latin music. Una Lady Como Tu, his hit from 2016, was awarded the Colombian Kids Choice Award in 2017 for Best Song. The album he released as his debut ADN was released by La Industria Inc., located in Medellin, a Sony distribution company. It peaked at 8 spots on the Top Latin Albums charts. Vaina Loca was a Top Five hit for Ozuna and Ozuna the year after. He released in 2020 his second album charting Dopamina and also collaborated on Mala Influencia with Noriel. In 2021, he appeared in a duet with TINI on her smash streaming track Maldita Foto. The hit single La Bachata from 2000 was published in 2023. His mother and brother were musicians at the time the time he was born. According to him, musicality was a fundamental element of his existence. When he was young, he taught to play the piano, saxophone and guitar. The first choice for his career was to become a vet But his older brother Julian persuaded him to learn to sing with an instructor from a Cuban teacher. What he got was finding out that he was blessed with the ability to sing, altered the direction of his life.
